Anyone have a educated guess what i should set the timing to on this thing? I ran all my carbureted fox's around 14 degrees but not sure if this is the same...

14-16* should work fine. Mine is set at 10* but I control the total timing with a PMS

Main reason is because i wanted something efi, for more options.
My buddy told me my timing has to be set through the hyfire iv ignition box, does that sound right? I cant see how the timing can change with out the distributor moving, lol. All these gadgets are new to me...

I don't think the Hifire box controls timing, and if it does I am sure it can be tuned off. In any case, you will see a little square plug at the end of a harness near where the distributor plugs in. This is called the spout connector, and with it in the ECU will add timing, if you pull it the ECU will not add timing. To set timing, pull the spout connector and set timing at 14-16* (make sure you run 93). Drive the car and under heavy load (lugging in 4th or 5th gear) and listen for any pinging from the engine, if you hear any, pull out a degree or two and recheck.
