5.0 lx just a little tweak n peak

just needing a little advice here. i have a 93 lx with AOD trans. i am looking into getting the b&m ratchet shifter for it so i have more control over my shifts. everything i have looked at with it is saying its a direct bolt on and go part. is this true, and if not what do i need for it??? is this a good choice for a "slap" shift?? thanks in advance!!!
