Default Supercharger help

Thinking of buying a low boost s/c kit... It between the Paxton 1220sl or the vortech v3 trim the base model one.. There are tones of info on the Paxton on there website but I can't get any info on the vortech?? Like what the kit comes with??? Also what kits are you guys running?? What one is loader? might sound childish but I like the noise of a s/c!!!

Just looking for any info you guys want to share I'm looking to stay in that 2200 range... Just torn between kits to what is better and makes more noise lol

thanks guys

Buddy of mine had the 1220sl. It had some noise to it. I could tell it was on the car but, it wasn't like some of the car's I have heard. One thing nice about it is, it was a bit easier to install because of not having to drill the oil pan.

Hey man I was going to buy the V3 also but got a sweet deal on a V1. I went on you tube and checked out the V1 sound clips... that s*** is loud as hell, which was I wanted. If you need to choose a S/C just go on you tube there are tons of S/C sound clips.. Good luck

Just buy a gear drive, a lot cheaper and you still get the wine.

First, a Vortech/Paxton with the standard 3.XX pulley and standard plastic discharge pipe will not be super loud. Yes you will be able to tell you have something under your hood. But it will not be exceptionally loud. A smaller S/C pulley and powerpipe will make it scream at idle. Now the V3 will be relatively quiet due to it's helical cut gears(vs V1 straight cut). And this is what you will probably want: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VOR-4FA218-010L/ You have very few mods, so this base kit should work well with the FMU supplied. I would get colder plugs like the Autolite 3924($18 for 8) gaped to .030. And since the V3 is internally lubed, you will not have to tap your oil pan which will save you some time. You might also want to spring for a bosch bypass valve as well: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VOR-8D001-001/ Oh!! and if you like there may be one more alternative: http://www.on3performance.com/mustang50.html
