Default 94 GT with no EGR when I bought it. How do I fix it?

The previous owner pulled the smog pump, egr and all support parts long before I got the car. I have CEL because of the EGR, my idle surges and car seems to run rich. When i pull to a stop, the car idles at 1500rpm while rolling but as soon as I stop it idles down where it should be. If i pull it out of gear or just push the clutch in while driving it will stay at 1500rpm until i get to a stop.

I may have multiple issues but am trying to start where I know there is a problem so I can find out whatever else is broken.

Mods:
Equal length shorties
Off road X with Mac cat back
MSD 6
E303 cam
75MM TB and MAF
Fenderwell cold air kit
Cobra intake
30# injectors
adjustable fuel pressure reg
and slightly larger valves in E7 heads

A far cry from performance I know. But I'd like to make it a beat more city driving friendly.

A deleted egr shouldn't cause that issue. To run a KOER, I believe it may have to be fixed though if I am remembering correctly.

Edit: I just noticed you have a 94 so, the same may not go for the those as they do the foxes.

your base idle needs to be set and you have a vac leak.

amd your CEL wont go away until you disable the EGR in the ECM electronically

how do I find a vacuum leak other than inspecting the lines?

What are my options for disabling the EGR electronically?

Spray some carb cleaner around the vac lines and intake gaskets and you will notice a difference when its running when you spray over the leak.

it needs to be done through the computer. I have tried the "resistor trick" and the car continued to run like **** until the CEL popped on, then it would idle fine.

as for finding a vac leak. look at the lines under your intake manifold (upper) it is very common for them to get brittle and crack under there. where you cant see it just by glancing

So how can it be done thru the computer? Meaning what chip or mod options are avail for this computer to fix it? I guess i can hit up some salvage yard to maybe find the EGR parts to put it back on.

I'll look for a vacuum leak this weekend. I caught myself checking all the vacuum hoses and t's to make sure they were good when I put the intake on a few months ago. It did it before the Cobra intake swap. I'll check again though. Thanks.

there are several tuning options. Dpending on what mods you have, it may be wise of you to look into the Moates Quarterhorse, as you can do most of the tuning on your own.

I'll look into it. The car isn't heavily modded, not a show car and not a priceless collector car. So between that and me not having a ton of money to dump into a spare car I won't be spending a ton on it.

I do appreciate the replies
