Its really nothing to be worried about. Adjusting lower control arms for length is actually really easy. The best way to do it is run a long bolt through your factory lowers and into the new ones. then adjust to the same length.
Once you have them set, you want to bring the car to an alignment shop and have the rear toe set. This way you can truely get the axle squared under the car.
Setting adjustable uppers is much the same method. You set them to length with your stock uppers, then fine tune pinion angle from there.
UNLESS you are using the Team Z or BASELINE Upper control arm sets. WIth those, you want to get the arms length to 7.25" IIRC, bolt the whole unit into the car and set pinion angle with the right arm. Once you get the PA set properly, you adjust the left arm until the bolt will simply "slide through". This should give you a neutral settng on the car and it SHOULD launch straight. You can then test drive the car to see if it pulls left or right under launch conditions, and adjust the left upper arm to set rear end pre-load.
IMHO, fully adjustable rear ends are the ONLY way to go.
