Default Valve clearence

Can anyone help me?I got a 86short block plus 69 heads.I bought 1.6 roller rockers,pushrods,plus i have a b cam,what if anything will i have to do to make this work?Will i have valve clearence promblems?Any help would be very,well helpfull.Im lost at this

i would think so.... have the heads been decked at all ?

86 block has flat top pistons.. you will likely have PTV issues

They are going to need machined,resurfaced from sitting.So i should have them decked and cant i have them reseated to work with the cam?

I have a guy wanting to trade me his 89 block for the 86.Will the b cam/heads work on that?

yes but might not be worth it. the DOOE heads are great budget heads but were made to work on leaded fuel, so they need hardened valve seats installed

sometimes better off getting iron gt40's (almost identical to DOOE heads) and going from there.

Hey thanks.So i have a pair of e7 heads.My understanding is they didnt get on the 302 untill 87.Will they work on my 86 block?Also are you saying it aint worth doing the work to the 69 heads just go with gt40s?

id sell you my lightly used 289 heads. less than 2k miles on them. all fresh machine work, guideplates. 1.94 1.6 valves, ported and blended bowls, decked,



these were used on a .512 lift cam 1.6 rockers with tons of room.
