if it's a worry to you keep it stock. but i also feel the same way about 3.73 gears.

especially in an automatic car... 3.73 feels stock to me. i only like 4.10's

to give you an idea of what your mpg will be.... just drive around at 250 rpm's X how many gearsets your jumping to. (if you go from 3.08 to 3.73 you will 3 gearsets higher... and so 750 rpm more than stock)

on a stockish car 3.73 WILL still bog on sticky tires. however on 4.10's you can lift the tire

if for 250 more cruising rpm thats not worth it????? then going fast is NOT for certain peeps

just my opinion though

if you dont floor it at every green light you can actually improve mileage. depends on how much city driving you do. when my mustang was my DD it was 99% city, 1% freeway. with all the stopping and going, the lower gears made it easier for the car to get moving as well as put me into OD faster, which is were the best mileage is gotten.

where others have said dont do gears if your worried about mileage, i will expand it say if your worried about mileage you shouldnt be driving a mustang
