For those who have wondered!

explain this to me then? all these motors are small than a 5.0....why would they have a TB relatively larger than you would recommend?
06 Chevy Trail Blazer with a 4.2L I6 Vortec engine. For the 4.2L (256 cid) engine the TB measured 80mm tapered bore / 75mm TB blade.
1993 BMW 325i 2.5L = 66mm bore/62mm blade
4.6L DOHC Northstar engine
TB is stepped from 82mm to a blade OD of 75mm
2001 Mazda Tribute with a Ford 3.0L DOHC engine
TB was 64mm bore stepped down to a 60mm blade.
2005 Suzuki Aerio 2.3L DOHC engine = 65mm bore/60mm blade
1995 Mercedes Benz C280 2.8L engine = 70mm bore/70mm blade
2005 Lincoln LS 3.9L engine = 82mm bore/70mm blade

I'll agree with Protrick also.
Look at the new 2011 5.0= 80mm TB and 86mm MAF
Its all in the induction, Big heads, TB, MAF, Intake, with the "correct" cam and tune. on a small engine "302" will make nice power, and driveability. Ford just proved that, 412hp@302ci.
Also, the flow numbers you posted, im guessing they are the TB only being flowed?
Bolt them to different intakes and see what they flow, for example a cobra intake. you will then see that the intake is a restriction to the TB. and youre only going to flow as much as your heads and intake will allow.

Thats a completely different 302 bore and stroke wise. hole different animal, head intake and ecm design! this was never meant for a blah this blah that just info i`m sure i`m not the only person in the world who has wondered at one time or another!
I did however have a valid explination of what i am trying to state but when i posted it said i didnt have the authourity to make this action, or some bs and when i refreshed the page it deleted the whole thing. anyway the whole discussion is not needed!
