BIG NEWS FLASH

The intake is just an extension of the heads port.Nothing more nothing less.
.... and case in point....... from the lower intake to the TB, and MAF (where applicable)

a.k.a stop wasting your aftermarket piggy bank fund on these tiny parts and long runner intakes. go as big as you can go and as short a path as you can and dont look back.

Where you can have dead spots in your power range cause your not flowing enough air?

bigger is only better to a woman there brother!

case in point stock 5.0l get 108mm tb custom induction and 100mm MAF? this would be a correct assumtion to your rule right?

having too much flow at idle will cause drivability issues! and not having enough on the topend will cause loss of power========= Loss of power! there is a compromise!

if you go too big you will lose all low end.. and if you go too small you will lose top end

you need to have the right size parts to keep the power balanced. having high peak power but no low and mid range will actually make your car slower. a car with a solid mid range and similar peak will actually be faster.

its not about the power level its about how fast you can go in the 1/4

please provide examples of your findings. i'm interested see these "driveability issues"

and why would you have a 100mm maf but a 108mm TB?

The op was for people who have offen wondered the flow rates of throttle bodys verses a carb.

the example of the maf and tb was hypethetical, i shall infact plagerize a referance at a later time to explain the drivability issues! i am in class right now and have no material to refer to!
