Default Nitto NT555R Drag Radial P245/50R16?

just wondering if Nitto NT555R Drag Radial P245/50R16 would be a good street/strip tire to use on stock pony rims? and if anyone else used them, thanks

actually a very good and wise choice. I use 275/40/17 555R's on my car. and ive been driving it pretty much every day.

if they had them in your size , I 'd say the nto5r hands down!! but they aren't offered yet in 16's iirc, I run them on my 89 vert and they hook way better than the 555r's but since your options are limited due to rims, go with the 555r's

i'll be the lonely nay-sayer i guess.

i have yet to see anyone hook better than a 2.0 on nitto's, and i can do that on $50 street radials

i wouldnt run nittos if you gave them to me. but i also dont DD my car, skinnies and slicks and mickey thompson or nuthin

and if you pull 1.6 on nitto.... then i apologize, just sayin... never seen it yet

I will never buy another set of Nitto 555R's. At our track you have to do a 20 sec burnout @ 15 psi to even remotely get them to hook. I'll run Mikeys from now on.
