which is a Better Axle?
1541 steel or a 4340 chromemoly? building a rear end with a 31 spline 03 cobra diff...
just want some details about what axles to purchase......

moly is going to be stronger id go with that no doubt

Both metals will hold up well but,the 4340 Chrome Moly will be stronger.
I'm running 1541 steel axles on my mustang and I never bent them or
snapped them and they hold up just fine.

I run 1541H steel. Very strong, just heavy.... the Chromemoly should be a lighter piece.
