Default starting issues

i have a 91 gt and i just purchased it 2 days ago and already had to have it towed. The car stalled on me and i have a freind that runs a ntb store they found that there was a kill switch under driver seat for the fuel pump and it lost connection. Also the starter was going out of it so we replaced it. So i drove it and went to the gas station and as i went to start it back up it didnt want to start but it was turning over very slowly then fired up on second time of turning the key. I then drove 45 min shut the car off for about 30 min and the car did not start so i got a jump and it fired right up. So i figured it was battery. i disconnected one batt. cable to check the alternator and it kept the car running. So i went and purchased new battery and it still did not want to start. So i got frustrated and held the key while the car was hard slow starting and about 30 seconds it fired up with me holding the key. so i got home went to bed and woke up to come to work and it fired right up no problem. Soooo new battery, new starter, fixed fuel pump, and checked alternator any suggestions on why this car is doing this? its all stock motor. But will fire up no problem with a jump. thanks for the help!!

you did not check the alternator properly, that test does not confirm alt's ability to maintain a full load, you need to have the alt load tested to see what the amp output is. also make ssure all connections are free of corrosion
