Red face OK...this didn't go as planned

Hey guys. I've not been on here in a while. Been busy with different stuff. Anyway, been working on the 85 a little. I've got it running and now able to start it without a jump or roll off. I had a local alternator shop build a 130AMP G3(?) with a one wire hookup, so the batteriy is staying charged now. I got the new belt and PS hose hooked up. It does still need an oil change, which I'll get to sometime this week.

Now, onto the main subject. When I got the car, it sat really low in the front and the ride was kinda harsh. It also has WAY too small of tires on it. 225/50/16(R)-205/50/16(F) to be exact. This is how the car sat till Saturday.

A buddy of mine has an 88 GT vert that he installed Eibach Pro Series springs in a few years ago. He still had his stock springs. He said he would sell me the stock front springs for $20 and help me swap them out. I may do a tubular K-member and coil over setup later, so I didn't want to spend $200+ for new springs that will eventually be taken out.

Well, we got the old springs out Sat. morning and noticed 2 coils had been cut off the old springs. We installed the new...well...stock uncut springs and this is what we ended up with.

I'm kinda hoping they will settle some since they've been sitting with no weight on them for a few years. Is that just wishful thinking, or do you guys think will settle some?

WOW thats up there. Do you have the springs sitting in the control arms right? Are you running a 5.0 or 4 cyl? I don't know if it will settle in that much! Call and get your tubular K-member and coil over setup today.

LOL! It's a 5.0 engine. Yeah, the springs are sitting in their pockets correctly. I also don't want to spend money on tires for these wheels as I'm gonna swap to 5-lug soon as well. My buddy that sold me the springs also has a '00 Cobra twin piston brake setup and a disc brake Cobra rearend with 3.23 gears. I just need to get some money to buy wheels/tires.
