What kind of Brake Pads I should buy?
Hi all,
I just wanted to know the OE requirements for my mustang, it's 1994 GT 5.0 with stock rotors. What kind of material (stock) is used? Organic, Semi-metalic or Ceramic? Is it ok if I go with ceramics?
thanks

Welcome to the forum
I think semi-metallic is stock, and what I would use on a daily driver. Just try to get the best pads you can afford. I tried the cheapo sets and they filled my rims with dust in a a couple days.
I've never tried the ceramics, but some love them, some say waste if money.

Thanks guys for your replies.
I've received email from rockauto.com where I want to buy it, they told me that it's ok to take ceramics, because their term "OE pad material is ceramic" means that the car was originally equipped with ceramics when it was built. However, I have seen in many blogs that the ceramic brake pads are more aggressive to rotors. Maybe it depends to the rotor itself?

Ceramic is the best by far. Organic will dust like crazy and doesnt last. Semi-metallic will squeal when cold. As far as being hard on rotors I call BS on that crap. Some say run softer pads to save your rotors but youll replace pads more often. Id rather run a better pad and replace rotors every few hundred-thousand miles. As long as you dont warp the rotors and need them turned you can just pad slap them and get a **** load of life out of them.
