Default 331 horse power?

whats up guys, i got a fords racing crate motor with z304da heads that is brand new getting stroked as we speak to a 331. well 327 with stock bore. i got a bbk ssi intake, 76mm mass air, bbk cold air fender mount, underdrive pullleys, light weight flywheel with 30 pound injectors, bbk equal length headers h pipe and flowmasters. i was wondering from those who built a 331 what kind of hp your are making and your setup. oh and intake is port matched and heads decked. this i my first stang and first stroker so any ideas for more cheat hp is great. thanks guys

Why not a 331... And what's so crapy about my build. All quality parts and 331 is more reliable than 347 I have heard. Not looking for 1000 hp twin turbo car. Just a good solid car as a toy to burn some rubber. Not trying to set records but thanks for the positive thoughts on my project

this is why its doomed to fail. you heard wrong. that information has been outdated for decades. it is no longer true my friend. 347 or go home. the only time you should run a 331 is in the case you are required by the rules in which you are competing.

whats so crappy? 331 is not better than 347 hands down. strike one
bbk si intake on a big cube motor? strike two
no mention of cam, strike three
some outdated cylinder heads, strike four
76mm mass air? strike five
shorty exhaust? strike six....two outs right there

my gosh, you have a lot more research to do on building something quality. be a lot of wasted money and a lot of buying part over again in the future. might i ask what your goals are? what is your budget?

idealy?

347 stroker
190 TW FAC heads
super vic or vic jr EFI style intake(considering you want to stay EFI)
90* elbow w/ 90mm tb 90+mm MAF
custom billet core cam
1 3/4 LT by 3"+ collector
3"full or dumped exhaust.

and supporting mods

you'd be crackin tens all day long with the right suspension and some seat time. however a lot of people dont have the money to do all that at once...so knowing your goals and budget would really help point you in the right direction and keep you from getting disappointed in the future.

first suggestion though? suspension. stay away from your motor if it runs fine now until you've got good suspension that can handle what your goals are.

funny...my 306 has Trick Flows that are way overported for the engine displacement and a Systemax intake. makes 300+ rwhp, no problems.

figure in the extra stroker displacement....I don't see a problem.
