tremec 3550 crossmember???

So I had a few free minutes before work ended and I installed the bellhousing and threw the tranny up in there and when i WENT TO INSTALL THE stock t-5 crossmember, it is not gonna line up unless you cut the welds and slide the crossmember back on the tubes....Just wondering what you tremec owners have done to resolve the issue???, I'd rather not hack up the stock crossmember in case I put a t-5 back in later if I sell the car.......also can you use the stock style trans mount?? mine is a energy suspension poly one for a t-5.

I used my stock mount and my stock crossmember. I did not use the little adapter plate the t5's use tho. but i'm not sure if my sn crossmember is different than a fox's. also make sure you get the steeda d/s spacer.

you should have used the adapter plate.

Mike, you need to either cut the welds, or purchase http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-5059-A/

i tried using the adapter plate. wouldn't work in my car, not sure why but nothing was even close to lining up with it in there.

I don't think foxbodies need to use a drive shaft spacer, that is only for sn-95's I think due to the fact they are a tad longer , but I could be wrong

I figured as much, guess I'll just get the one from the link you posted........for a fox the driveshaft spacer isn't needed is it???

ctgreddy 08-30-2010 07:14 PM

sn95's and fox's used the same driveshaft. i dont see how fox's could not need the spacer.

mjr46 08-30-2010 07:39 PM

^^^I'll have to look into that then

AdderMk2 08-30-2010 07:51 PM
