Default difference in motors?

Was there any difference in the 5.0 motors that were used on foxbodies and the 5.0 motor that was used on the 1994-1995 mustangs? Why were the foxbodies rated at 225 flywheel hp and the sn95's were rated at 215 flywheel hp?

the only real diff is that 1993+ cars have hyper pistons rather than forged.

a number of reasons the cars are arted anywhere from 205-225

a bunch of different cam options and mosty stuff worth less than 5hp. it's kind of a cumulative thing really... not like there was a instant 20 hp downgrade. fyi... my 1990 1989 and 1988 cars ran much better than my 1993, like almost a 1/2 second quicker

Some years of Fox had forged pistons verses hyper. Computer-emissions restricted output.

So besides the pistons being non forged on sn95's, the heads, intake, and cam are the same correct?

not exact but yeah... and thats from '87 and up

'85 had good heads but carb'd (cfi cars sukkk a$$ like 145 hp or something)
'86 had the new efi intake with crappy heads

'87 they figured it out but '87 and '88 (cali '88 cars were mass air) were speed density

like i said... i cant prove it but a mass air car from '88, '89 or '90 would be my choice

Intakes on 94/95 are different
timing cover and water pumps are different
accessory brackets are different

The tune from the factory for emissions are the main reason that the hp rating was dropped but it can be brought back up by bumping the timing and adjusting the fuel pressure a little

projectresto83 when you say the intakes are different on the 94/95 mustangs do you mean looks or is there any difference in port work?
What do you think I should put the fuel pressure at and where should I put my timing at?

94/95 intakes have a bend where the throttle body bolts to so it curves down toward the side of the motor a little to clear the strut tower. Fox's don't....
