Until now all my tools were for maintaining the ol' family hauler. So I'm turning to you guys for advice and guidance. I've listed what I want to do and which brand i was planning on using. Please read the list and offer any and all advise. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: I DONT WANT A DRAGSTER. I DO WANT A FAST RELIABLE STANG

So my ideas are the following:

Total Rebuild of Engine *Ford Racing?*
Polish Ports
New upper and lower intake *Best Brand?*
Headers *Long or short?*
Tremec *TKO 500 or 600?*
All new suspension *No clue where to start*

ANY HELP YOU GUYS CAN OFFER I WOULD APPRECIATE. ALSO ANY WEBSITE URL FOR PRODUCTS...THANX IN ADVANCE..
couple places to check out

summitracing.com
50resto.com
blueovalindustries.com
teamzmotorsports.net
uprproducts.com
fordstrokers.com

all have great stuff at great prices and good customer service.

what's your budget? how many miles on the current motor? leaking any oil? holding compression?

as for suspension your one stop shop would be team z which i listed above. gave dave a call.

any specific motor questions give jim a call from fordstrokers.com and he'll get you set up right.

CTHU! Funny should ask about the engine...I think I need new bearings. On the way home the oil pressure just died all of a sudden. I can hear a faint tick in the engine too..I was going to just change the oil pump just to make sure it was the bearings but since i was already planning a rebuild I'll just wait and do the whole thing..BTW it has 140k + miles on it.

Congratulations. I have never heard of a 5.0 mustang as a super car but ok.

I would start with gears like 3.73 This will give you the biggest bang for your buck.
second upgrade the clutch
third change the air filter with one that breaths better
fourth upgrade your exhaust.

These are a good starting point and not alot of money is spent.
