Ok so I have ran into a problem I have full drag suspension ladder bars hole 9 yards a fully built rearend and a roll cage I got cut off switch batterey moved to the trunk now where I'm stuck at is I don't know what motor I should go with I have a 302 bare block and gt40p heads any ideas on what I should do I want to get in to the 10s but I'm starting to get low on cash so any ideas on a good build for around 2000

Sell those GT40P heads. Nothing but trouble and they SUCK.
2k won't get you close to 10s. I'm at over 2500 on just buying my short block(unassembled), machine work and a custom cam. My heads were over 1000 and I still have an ENORMOUS parts list to go through.

And what's the problem with the gt40 heads I heard of people using them

I ran these heads and they were awful. Did not perform much better than stock(I don't care what anyone says, they don't!) and I burned spark plug boots left and right. Kept a package of them in the car. I ran MAC 1 5/8 unequal length shorties and dimpled them in some areas. I ran 90* boots, made shields, nothing worked.
