Lincoln MK 7 five lug rotors on '86 mustang
Heya guys, just trying to get some more info on this.
Apprantly to do this conversion, you need 87-93 front spindles. I have the five lug rotors already. I have a non-power master cylinder and want to use the 60mm mustang GT calipers with the 11inch MK7 rotors, will this work? are there any differences in the GT calipers and rotors vs. the MK7 calipers and rotors? Aside from the five lug and bigger caliper pots? Thanks in advance for any help!!

I believe it is a straight forward swap. I have seen on other sites where people have swapped it over and said it was simple. Do you just have the rotors or do you have access to the whole car. If you have access to the whole car I would most definitely grab the rear end also, 8.8 disc rear end. Most came stock with 3.73 gear and posi. It WILL bolt into the stang.

I just bought the rotors. Basically didnt do my research, since what basically happened was ford changed the spindle between the 86 and 87 model years to the spindle found on five lug SVO's and MK7's. So if you have an 87-93, the conversion is super simple. If you have a 79-86 non SVO car, you have to change the spindle. Which is a PITA lol. So i'm gonna take the rotors back and buy some early 80's 4 cylinder ranger rotors, apparently those fit the spindle and you can use the factory cailper.

So if your using stock mustang 87-93 rotors, you can just buy early 80s range rotors and have 5 lug up front on the stang?
Is it that simple?
I was always under the impression i needed new spinals too.
I plan to do this in the future, not to worried about upgrading breaks at the moment.

From what I've read:
If you have an 87-93 mustang GT, you can pop on the Lincoln MK7 front rotors. You can even use mustang GT bearings and calipers. If you have a 4cylinder 87-93 mustang, or a 79-86 mustang, 4 cylinder ranger front rotors are a direct swap.
You can swap to 94-95 or 96-04 front spindles fairly easily as well. The problem here is that the hubs sit about 5/8ths of an inch farther out than the factory units. I have 03 cobra control arms, which also push the hubs farther out. So i'm trying to use the factory spindles since i think i'm already gonna have fitment issues
^This is how I understand it. I'm just trying to figure this out without swapping out spindles. Because it's a PITA lol

Interesting in the fact that i thought the only difference in the GT was the kit and a few other things
didnt think they used different rotors
so 4 cyl wtf
i always thought i needed to snipe a pair of SN spindals.
thanks for the reply
