Default No fuel - Electrical issue?

I've replaced the relay, pump, and ignition switch on the steering wheel. The pump went out on me within a month and am wondering if I got a crappy dud or if there's a possible underlying reason. The pump isn't priming when the key is turned on but once I pull it out, all I have to do is put 12v to the pump and it should prime if it's working, correct? The relay is also clicking. If the pump is fine then I'm stumped on anything else it could be.

Or....you could use a test light to see if you have power going to the pump when the engine is cranked. The ecu will only feed power there for 2 seconds unless it recieves a tach reference signal. So, you will need 2 people

And with all your mods, im going to assume you bought the car like that or had someone do the work?

Correct. Now that I think about it, could a faulty neutral safety switch not prime the pump? I'm not sure if the car was originally a automatic or not but there's a wire harness under by the trans that has some wires spliced together, acting as a bypass (I cannot start the car without this harness, I believe it also goes to the reverse light). The harness sat on the exhaust for a little and the male/female connectors melted so I figure it's only a matter of time before it happens again or goes up completely. I hope someone can tell me what they did there (previous mechanics ghetto rigged alot on this car)

A defective Neutral Saftey switch wont let you start the car in Park or Neutral if its a manual as it is part of the starter control circuit.

Wiring diagrams help alot for these types of issues
