Default Cold day of racing

Well today was out last test n tune of the season and I decided to take the 92 in my sig up = calypso notch.....It has cosistently run 13.70's-13.80's in the past and is reliable and a no hassle ride, mainly due to the fact it's mostly stock except for exhaust, gears and f-cam and a few other minor bolt ons.....sorry no videos, I went alone with just a cell phone and my ET streets mounted on 10 holes, weather was cold and breezy 37 degrees for a high, meaning cool down between runs was quick!!! the lanes were empty since many didn't brave the cold weather, 30 cars max if lucky and often no one was running.....anyway the first run I did was with my nitto 555r's that are on stock pony rims, since it was cold even with a lengthy burnout they skipped across the 60 with massive wheel hop, after that I said screw it, on go the MT'S , IF not, I'd of broke something, anyway on the nitto's first run was a 14.49 @ 87 mph = missed 4th
So on went the MT et streets 26x10.50 2nd run 13.82 @ 98.3, hmm not bad I though so next I reinstalled the vaccum advance line since the stock dizzy without it gave 35 degrees total and with it nearly 45-50, anyway , I gave it a try 3rd run with vac advance on 13.77 @ 98.66.....hrmm I thought, now we're getting somewhere..... anyway, until then all runs were solo, my 4th run I decided to remove the air cleaner and this run pitted me against someone finally, a monte carlo ss of comparable speed, this time I galloped to a 13.67 @ 99.43 to his 13.97 @ 99.9.....wow best run ever in this!!!! was I done?? noway!!! all the next runs I made no changes and just worked on my shift points and launches which were somewhere close to 5500, anyway, 5th run was a 13.56 @ 97.82 lost mph ??? 6th run 13.61 @ 101.23...best mph to date!!!! then finally the 7th run a 13.49 @100.59...best et in 7 years since conversion to 5.0 and the 8th and final run was a 13.51 @100.71 ..all in all I was happy and left with 2 hrs of racing to go........Hopefully 2011 will end on a even better note next year!!!

Good Job Mike! Those MPH's are what give me the hope for breaking the 13's easily with mine lol. I need to get my traction issue under control! So when are you gonna get the vert put into your sig??

I didn't have really any traction issues with the MT et streets, I have to launch at a high rpm to offset the slight bogg, it's not really a bogg but since it dead hooks so quick it pulls the rpm back down quick below it's optimal range so it takes a little to work back up to the powerband, some 4.10 or even 4.30 gears would offset it with the tall tire or just plain more power ftw!!! as for the sig, I know, I need to change it, the 66 is long gone and I'm actually trying to sell the 92, it's up for sale now

yeah it was chilly here, but it wasn't so cold that it was miserable, the sun poked out a few times but for the most part it was overcast....I thought the track would be slick but for the most part people were hooking up

Good times with some really crisp weather. Do you know what the barometric pressure was? At E-Town that really makes a diff. My 02 GT picks up about 3 to 4 tenths when the pressure is over 30. What were your 60 ft's? Your times are very similar to my LSC.

not sure what the BP was, my guess on the rise since a storm system was on the way out and High pressure was moving in, which will be fully set in place by tomorrow....but they have regular class racing tomorrow.........my 60's were 1.80, 1.82, 1.87, 1.82, 1.85, 1.86, 1.85 and a 2.19, the 2 sec one was on nitto's after that run I removed them and bolted on my MT ET STREETS

You got really good 60 fts. On my LSC i run Mickey 275/50-15 DR's. My 60 fts range from 1.79 to 1.85 on a soft launch. Your mph is better than mine as i only trap 98 mph. Probably because i run an automatic. Maybe you will run quicker today!!

oh, I'm done for the season, no racing today.......my sixties could be better cause once it dead hooks it drops rpm below powerband and it has to work back up so it's kinda like a bogg, but it's not a bogg , the tires are a tad tall for the lack of power the motor has, one of two solutions, 4.10 or 4.30 gears or more power, shorter tire is out
