Default exhaust leak

My 88 LX has an exhaust leak on both sides, what can I expect to pay for a header gasket change out and stage 8 locking bolts installed at local shop ( Miami, Fl ) and can anyone recommend one ?

Thanks

why not just buy the bolts and gaskets and do the work yourself? it's not a difficult job, even with long tube headers. High side estimate on costs are $50 for the header bolts and $20-$30 for gaskets...but that's going by Holcomb Motorsports catalog prices. Should be able to find the parts cheaper elsewhere.

gotcha. I've changed 'em before just using a 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2 inch socket set and a combination wrench or two but it is easier with air tools and a lift to get under the car. last set I swapped, I used orange RTV instead of gaskets. You have to let it cure overnight, but it's lasted longer than any gasket I've ever tried. Good luck.

A lot of shops won't do this work (at least around here) because of the good possibility to break a header bolt, if they do the job I believ around 2-3 hours of labor a side, more than likely two, unless you use a performance shop they won't understand the locking fasteners, I know they come with instructions but people are dumb and most so called "mechanics" aren't gear heads just guys at 9-5's.

go ahead and spring for copper gaskets, while not necessary they're still nice.

quick search on google for "mustang performance shop miami florida" gave me this stangnet post

http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-foru...ops-miami.html

good luck to you man I think it would be worthwhile to do the work yourself but its up to you.
