hey guys, sry to hijack. i am also thinking of doing the same thing. i did not realize that dynamat is so heavy... hmm kinda stinks. i emailed lyzard skin and asked how much 1 gallon weighed after it dries, they said 6lbs! pretty good. they also said that products like dynamat will stick to it and it will not break down due to the glue. not sure if you are familiar with eastwood they have there own house brand and it is about half the cost, i read the reviews and it seems to be quality stuff. they actually claim it works better than most major brands. i really would like it if i did not have to buy there spray gun as it ups the cost a lot. i was also thinking of using a rust inhibitor before i apply anything. there is not much rust on the pans but when my heater core blew it left some surface rust.
