Default biggest cam for stock pistons

if i were to use a stock bottom end on my 5.0 build,

what the largest cam i can use in there without causing a severe ptv issue

i saw in another thread a z303 with stock pistons wont work unless u notch the pistons, what about the x303 cam? a friend has one he is willing to give me along with 1.6 rockers

I am running a F cam with the stock springs and rockers. Could not see much more than that on a stock set up.

theres a brilliant idea... .512" lift cam with springs that are barely good enough for the stock cam.

I bet your car has no sack on the top end

im not gonna run stock springs or anything like that, i just didnt know if anyone had used the x303 on stock pistons or should i go with dished or cut outs when i do the bottom end...

i'm trying to piece together some of the parts and get things used to save over buying a new TF kit

douche , with any cam install ptv must be checked, so if it clears go with it...I assume you know how to mock up to check for ptv as well as valvetrain geometry??

my friend will be doing that part, and ill be learning it for the first time that day

hes building building and racing sbf and sbc/bbc for 20+ years

i knew it had to be checked regardless, just wasnt sure if anyone had done the combo without incident already

im waiting to hear back right now about a set of gt40 heads and intake manifold off a 96 exploder to throw in at the same time while i save for the trickflow kit
