Default no spark to coil

I have a problem with my mustang and i have tried sevral things and cant figure it out. The car runs good and is very strong, but when i get on it hard and the car is hot ( actually normal at about 160 degrees) it shuts off on me and it wont start until it cools down. it only does it when i step on it hard over 4000 rpm. It will drive normal all day. It has no spark from the coil, until it cools back down. I have changed the coil Cap & rotor, and wires all new. Also tried another dizzy that works for shure. Has this happened to anyone or any advice would be appreciated. thanx. Im starting to think its an electricall problem.

change your ignition control module with a new FORD piece, not a ****ty replacement from a parts store.

I agree. Though if you put a cheap parts store coil in it that won't help either. If you suspect faulty wiring make yourself (or get'em off a tool truck) a set of jumper wires & either bypass the suspect circuit or run parallel to it. Either will improve the condition if the wiring is faulty. I'd be checking the wiring to the coil when the condition is present.

Also- if whoever you borrowed that dizzy from has an ignition module that is the same as yours I'd swap it out before I tried anything else. On GM's that unit is called an ESC (Electronic Spark Controller) & the damn things go out all the time.

1 more thing: If you absolutely have to buy aftermarket (i.e. "parts store") electrical components get'em from Napa. Their line comes from Echlin, and is in most cases superior to most OEM manufacturers.
