Default question about h/c/i upgrade

Okay, I'm getting a basically stock 5.0, rebuilt to a 306 with forged flat top westco* pistons.

My question is...

What combo can I do that will be simple? As in no cutting the pistons, ect.

Can I do afr185cc heads, systemax intake, trickflow stage 3 cam?

But first the h/c/i, and me and my dad want to do it,

Advice on the process? Can it be done in a gerage within a few days? Thanks yall.

Yes can be done at home. Ud prolly save money and be more satisfied with the tfs topend kit. Good luck. Ofcourse the boring has to be done at a machine shop!

with the tfs top end kit, dont i need special trick flow pistons? Because i was going to order that once a substitute in the stage 2 cam and i thought i needed special pistons...

and 5.0kid, how hard is it to flycut the pistons? Even if they already have reliefs in them? is it really that hard? I'm a perfectionest, but is it like a super hard job? lol And how would I know how much and where to cut?Just keep cutting til the valves doesnt touch a light layer of clay all over the piston?

Get away from the big cam thing buddy! What pistons are u using? Most aftermarket vlv reliefs will clear. And unless u wanna buy a new set of pistons id leave the cutting to a machine shop.

Dosent seem ur too much of a perfectionist if ur using that cam those heads and intake, sounds like someone throwing darts blindfolded in the wrong direction! Dp a little research on those three items you may see what i mean!

you stated they are flat top pistons which leaves me to belief the vavle reliefs are not much deeper then stock, you would have to grind away where the reliefs are now. The issue if your taking weight off of the pistons and different amounts on each which is going to throw your balance off leading to further issues down the road, the big cam is gonna gonna work unless you get a different set of pistons that were meant for that, doesnt matter what head your gonna run your gonna need another set to go that big. hope that helps

Most flattops now are 6/8cc reliefs plenty to clear that cam with 1.6 rockers. A true flat would never clear. And the balance issue is the main reason for a machine shop to do the work.

ok im tired of guessing on what to do yall, whats the BEST h/c/i for a 302/306 that is a daily driver, i want a good cam sound too. and I want it to produce the highest HP/torque possible.. And I want it to be easy to install, no flycutting the pistons...
