i dont think the vss sensor would be related to my problem. thanks for your input though. i have gone through the checklist on the link very closely and i got nothing. that checklist almost seems that is for a car that doesent turn on. my car shuts off while driving only when i go high rpms. in normal driving conditions it wont turn off. something is getting hot and shorting out. (im thinking) i will be installing a new wire harness this weekend if that does not work i am seriously giving up on the car. maybe going carb.

did i also mention that when car dies it will start again after 30 minutes or so.

I had an old truck that would run and then shut down also. After all the stuff I did to it trying to figure it out, it was the fuel filter in the carb being clogged. Replaced the fuel filter and had no problems. I know it's a long shot and most likely wrong, but replace the fuel filter and see if that helps.

thanks for the input it has a fresh tune up filters included. and no this problem did not start after the tune up.

come on guys the car has no spark when the problem occurs but has plenty of fuel. not a fuel issue. its a temporary no spark issue.

Did you try replacing the ecm? And did you try going through the checklist when the car wont start? I'd try those things before you decide on switching to Carb.

Did you follow that link that was posted? Probably not. Thats the BEST way to figure out no starts.

And how are you checking for fuel and how are you checking for spark?
