im buying new tires and springs for my 92 5.0 i was just wondering if i get the original size 225 55r 16 will that still be ok if im only going down 1.5" or do i need to get a lower profile tire?

Just get 245/50/16's

They are wider and are the same height as stock. You will be fine with the lowering as well. You will however might want to look into caster camber plates though so you don't tear into your tires after a few thousand miles
