Default Hatch Freshen-Up pics - included...

May not be the most exciting post/write-up, but here it goes...
My Hatch Lift Struts on my 89 were getting old/worn out, so I ordered new ones from CJ Pony Parts. Sure I could have taken the old ones off and slapped the new ones on, but I'm kind of detail oriented so figured I'd go a step further. I took the metal brackets off the car to clean/wipe down where it had gotten dirty thru the years, and noticed that the brackets were chipped up/faded, so I cleaned them, primered them, gave em 2 fresh coats of black paint and then reinstalled everything. Not super exciting, but here's a few pics...

First before and after...

Before:

After:

After the Struts/Brackets were taken off, cleaned the area up:

Primered and 2 fresh coats of Black Paint:

Reattached [new] Struts to Brackets, and then hooked up to Hatch and DONE!:

...Thanks for looking, the struts are so much better now obviously, and looks a lot better!

Thanks! And oh yeah, I TOTALLY know what you're saying about the screws... The ones on the passenger side were tough! Thought I was gonna strip them out but finally got em!

Looks great and it's cool to see other write up's/pics of the small things. It gives people the motivation to do the same. I am painting my 10 holes right now so that I will be closer to the Texas DPS SSP look. I will take pics and and do a post later.
