ok so I will be changing out my heads and manifold this summer and i just want to get a checklist of everything i need to do the job. I will be getting everything from Latemodelrestoration

I've decided on the AFR 165 stud mount with a 58 combustion chamber.
Im going to also be putting on my upper and ported lower GT-40s i have.
I know with these heads i need to buy rockers. what kind are best??
i will also be buying the complete engine gasket kit from them as well.

first off... DO NOT get the whole engine kit... you'll be wasting money and have to order more stuff anyways

are you gonna o-ring the heads ? i would if i were you, but i spray. it's like a $100 i think, maybe cheaper if you order them already cut.

either way do all felpro

you'll need the o ring head gaskets, a gt40 gasket kit (will have upper/lower,stat and maybe more??) if you do a 70mm tb you'll need that too cuz gt40 is only 65mm i think... but 65 is good for 400 hp. if you use a spacer you'll need more upper/lower gaskets, but a new spacer will have them.

anyways, use decent felpro header gaskets

you'll need some ptfe thread sealant for the head bolts, a good torque wrench, some attachments to drive the oil pump (1/4" female) to keep the lifters primed while doing the rockers. 1.7 rockers you said right ? harland sharp are awesome but pricey. i have no problem with crane or motorsport.

thats the basic list anyways.... cant think of anything else too important that you probably dont already have
