Default Exhaust sizing question

OK here it goes, the '33 comes with a 2 1/4" exhaust with no crossover (straight pipes the whole way back) and im wondering how much of a bottleneck its gonna be on my motor
specs are:
rebuilt 302 (306)
TF heads (170's)
TFS 2 cam
Pro Products Hurricane intake (dont wanna hear it...)
FAST EZ EFI
1 3/4" headers (either OTS shorties or i might try to make some longtubes)

is it worth going and making a 2.5" exhaust or can i get away with the 2 1/4".

if i tackle the 2.5" im gonna out an X in it.

lemme know guys!!

I have a book(too tired to go look now) that lists generally the pipe size and what max hp it can support without being a restriction. iirc you're probably close to the limit.

That said, no crossover won't help. If it's in the budget it wouldn't hurt to go 2.5 with x.

any exhaust is a restriction. go big or go home. it's just like electrical wire, the longer it is, the more resistance. so if it is full length go 3" or larger.

the largest i can fit between the frame rails in 2.5" oval tubing so thats how its gonna be.

the car only weighs 2150lbs so i can get away with a few less HP

the power to weight will still lay ruin lol

allright 2.5" with the X it is!!!

havent bought it yet but what would you recommend? thought it looked like a decent system, and i like the looks of the "carb" setup.

as for the crossover, i like (love) the sound an X pipe makes, im going to be going with Borla XR-1 mufflers so it should sound pretty nasty.
