Default How to tell if I have a short throw shifter...?

I am planning on buying a new black leather shift boot with stiching that matches my interior...however, I don't know whether I have a short throw shifter or not. The previous owner did some tasteful mods to my car, but not sure if a short throw was one. It's not like I have two 5.0's to park side by side and compare haha, so how would I know? If I take the stock boot off, will it have a brand name (had it off before but didn't know what to look for)? If I took a pic and put it up on here would people be able to tell just from the look of it..? Thanks for any feedback

Short throw shifters have bolt stops that you adjust front and back, take the boot off and take a look.

Yeah takes all of 5 minutes to look and you'll know exactly what you have. You'll need an 8mm socket for the plate that covers the base of the shifter where the brand name is written.

thats a stock shifter and why would it matter if you had a short throw on it or not.the shift boot will work with a short throw

Cool, thanks! The reason I was asking, is because the company that makes the custom leather shift boots, says that if you have a short throw, they make the boot accordingly. They say that if you put one made for a stock shifter onto a short throw, it won't look right. Who knows...

yeah the stock shifter is twice as high as a short throw shifter. so a boot made for stock will sag and bunch up and not look fitted.
