its just wishful thinking... lol

realistically ??? 2-4 hp tops. but did you remove everything too ? yanked the pump and all the tubing ?

you'll dump about 20 lbs and it all helps. every 100 is like adding 10 hp

also, the right side of the engine bay will all clear now, and doing plugs is easier than the drivers side.

meh, more like 10-15lbs

the smog pump is only 8 lbs, the carbon can is 2 pounds, and then the rest is just hoses and junk.

still a worth while mod, if you don't have to pass emissions where you live.

I read in 5.0 that 100 lbs is a 10th off your 1/4?? they had a bone stock '88 notch in the high 12's with Tires, Tune & Diet.

I dumped the Air Pump, A/C. Since I am on the carb, I was able to dump A grip load of copper & the whole factory intake system. My car also has no carpet (Smoothed everything out and sprayed with rhino liner), back seat is gone & the top and motors have bin taken out. When I did my stereo, I kept weight in mind. I did a single 12 & only 2- 6" for mid/high & 1 amp that would drive my satellite's & sub. Its loud and half the weight of what I normally see.

the rhino liner probaby weighs twice what the carpet did, and looks twice as crappy too.

LOL, thinking the same thing.

OP, Should just pull the carpet and took the backing off it and reused the carpet. then scraped all the sound deadener pads out of it.

+1

sound deadening is not worth removing imo. I'm a weight ****, and weigh everything, and try to lose as much weight as I can. but I would rather have a extra 5lbs, then have my ears bleed from the exhaust on the highway.

I'm thinking of using "lizard skin" sound deading instead of the heavy dynamat stuff. still thinking it over.

.
thats correct

100 lbs = 10 hp = 1/10 ET

thats a good rule of thumb til you get over about 400 hp

then you'll see that another 100 hp doesnt do what it did when you only had 200.
it's a percentage thing. 10% of 200 is 20 hp, 10% of 500 is 50 see what i mean

Its not that loud I have long tubes x pipe & 40 series Flowmasters & its a convertible, the sound is coming in like it or not.
the Rhino looks great Cleans up very easy. I doubt the 10 oz of Rhino I sprayed on weighs more than carpet. I saw it for the first time on some off road broncos. Liked it. Around here with all the dirt parking lots you want it as easy to clean as possible. Also, There is no top. Every now and again, you get cough in a summer shower. I would be lie'n if I told you I never had to hurry home, toss a tarp over it, then when the weather broke, shopvac it and bring the seats in and set them next to my fire place for 2 days.
