Default new to stangs... need help

finally got a mustang like i've always wanted bought a 93 gt hatch with 5.0 ho and fried aod....gonna put in a new one with shiftkit and high qauilty fluid...wanna do some minor preformance upgrades but efi is sort a foreign to me...heres my plan...
explorer upper/lower intake
60mm trottle body
1" intake spacer
1/2"throttle spacer
jbl headers
highflow cats
2 1/2" exhaust with x pipe..
flowmasters
cold air intake
subframe connectors
tubular control arms
strut brace
2" lowering springs/spindles
8.8 rear rebiult with new limited slipclutches and 3.73/4.10 gears..

this car came with 16" boyd rims and 225X50R16 goodyears..

that leave a couple questions...
do i need to upgrade igniton or computer or fuel systems????
what kinda power should this net me????
is there anything i missed????

and off the power subject did these cars ever have a tilt column????

I've never seen one with a tilt column. I know they seem rather low to me. My knees always hit the column and I'm not even that tall.

As for power I wouldn't expect much of an increase unless your willing to upgrade the heads, cam, and intake. The heads are where you will net the most increase. I don't know what your HP/Trq goals are but I'd save your money for this. Nevertheless you do have a few items on that list that would be a good mod.

As for the gears, go with the 410's for sure. I just put some in and despite what some say I do NOT think there too much gear. They don't change my daily driving or road manners a bit. In fact I could see myself getting 430's or 456 in the future.

Your tires are the wrong size.
Run 4.10 gears MINIMUM with the AOD
Get an external transmission cooler with a fan on it
60mm TB is a wast of time, your stock TB is 58mm. Go 70mm-75mm. If you run a 75mm, you should port match the opening of the intake manifold to match. make sure you get the appropriate EGR piece.
Run BBK Headers instead of JBL, got a matching BBK mid pipe
CAI is a waste of money, so are the intake spacer and throttle body spacer.
No, you don't need to upgrade your ignition/computer/fuel system
You wont break 200RWHP

Something you missed... Get a SN-95 MAF sensor. Its $15-$50 and if a 70mm piece. Will swap right in, and its 15mm larger than what you have.

I didn't realize that I hadnt made myself clear... so let me try to rectify this situation right now.

Your car currently has 225/50/16 tires on it...
(((225/100(50x2))/25.4)+16) = 24.8"

Your current tires overall diameter is 24.8".

A stock Mustang tire is ~25.7"
(((225/100(55x2))/25.4)+16) = 25.744"

Hence.... YOUR TIRES ARE THE WRONG SIZE!

Understand?

well a bunch of stuff i'd skip

you said "later" to be a camaro killer ??? skip half of what you said and do it now.

do a t5 tranny swap. aod's are horribly geared and extremely weak. if you insist on it... just get a lentech or start saving to rebuild it again in 6 months.

your tires should b3 225/60/15 , so yeah they are shorter (giving you better gear ratio) and a lil wider.

a t5 swap, 4.10 gears and a decent cheater slick (not nittos....mickey thompson anything...et streets are best) will knock about 2 seconds off your ET, thats like adding 200 hp.

do a 100 shot nitrous kit and you'll be sitting pretty

aod cars are a full second slower than same equipped t5 cars (i had 2 aod cars and 3 t5 cars... i can show the naysayers timeslips...so dont even bother)

until you swap for better heads tb,intake gives you nothing. especially explorer. explorer or "gt40p" are very small ports....and IMO just a gt40 "style" intake

the car is the wife too and she won't drive stick...must stay auto...
as for too short tires...as i'm lowering the car 1 1/2 -2" a 1" shorter tire makes since...
the non camaro killer status is becuase of the aod, i know there week and will probably convert to a c4 if/when i build a proper motor for the car...
and yes i've found far better intakes aftermarket for reasonable prices...
the plans are to drive it now and biuld a 347 aluminum headed beast for it later...but that'll require frame stiffing suspension work tough trans and upgradse to alot of peices.. and thats all if i can convince the wife to let me do it all... i may just need to buy another gt and build it for myself...convincing her of that should be easier...

A shorter tire doesnt make a damn bit of sense... Next time you replace the tires, put the correct diameter tire on. All you are doing is wasting fuel, and racking up the miles on your car.

I have never seen a 93 with tilt. I always thought 89 was the sweet year for a tilt car because of mass air.
