Default first time ever wouldn't start

last night at 2am after the movies proved to be a great time for my 94 to not start for the first time. battery had tons of juice.would crank just fine but no ignition. full tank, bit low oil, but don't see that being an issue. we tried cranking it with the coil wire pulled half an inch of the distrib. no spark. my dad says the coil is bad. could there b be any other possible answered as Well?

There are other options, but it's not unheard of for coils to die. They tend to die in heat, though. Its kinda uncommon to walk out to a cold car and have the coil be dead.

Check to see if you have injector pulse. If you don't, you need either TFI or PIP. If you do, you need a coil.

ok, a bit more info. posted that on my phone, was having some issues. the car has about 150,xxx miles on it, hasn't been serviced in a long time. but it has always ran perfect for me. we also tried pop-starting it multiple times with no luck. car sounded like it was just about to turn over every time i cranked it, but would never get going.

how do i see if i have injector pulse?

Rent a set of noid lights from Autozone, and plug one in-line on an injector. Have someone try to start the engine, the light should flash.

If it was any three of these parts.. how easy are they each to replace? I have very limited knowledge working on a newer engine like this. And my car is sitting in a movie theater parking lot. I have only a short amount of time to figure out the issue and replace the parts so I can get it out of there and home. Otherwise I'll need to get it towed.

and i just searched for tfi on summit. is that just the distrib cap?

Nope.
TFI is the 6 wire ignition module, on your car should be mounted on the passenger fender well area.

PIP is the sensor inside the distributor, requires pulling and disassembly of it.
They both control spark timing and fuel injector timing. Which is why I mentioned doing the noid-light test.

Well, replaced the TFI and coil, still no go. I figured they were about all I could easily replace with limited tools in a parking lot. Ended up getting the car towed to my local mechanic unfortunately. I'll post back once I hear what the problem was.

Was the fuel pump priming when you turned key.

He said no spark.. Nearly 100% positive it's PIP(AKA Pickup, Stator, or Hall Sensor.. dealing with the same issue now on mine
