does the engine shake bad or have a vibration in it that you can feel? Have you had the pan off it and looked at it as far as the crankshaft and rods take a look at the bearings. Just cuz it is a 50oz balance dont mean it is junk. it maybe just how they did it is the it the best by far NO but if it balanced out then it it did. for all we know it is a old 400m crank some one cut down and fitted in there old school kit. Just seen one the other day 400m crank big block Chevy rod and Ross piston they balanced it with a 50oz balancer and a 28oz flexplate and put heavy metal in the crank talk about doing what you had to do.

A 50oz balancer and a 28oz flexplate on a computer balancer, I would love to see that happen!

balancing isnt just making all rods and pistons weight the same!

I have seen many many rotating assemblies balanced and never once has a mitxmatched one been able to be done!

but hey maybe they knew a trick we dont know at the shop down here idk!

But too most places just get within 10-15 grams out, they go to .000 here locally!

thx for all the help guys. There is a movie of motor running i'll see if i can figure out how to post it here for you guys to see. As for vibration didn't notice anything really but i could be mistaking. I'll be pulling off the pan soon to inspect. I'm too worried now lol. appreciate the help.

oh forgot to ask. So by looking at it can you guys tell if thats a 50 oz? Do you think it'd be a smart thing to send out the rotating assemble out to get checked?

There is absolutly no way to look at the balancer and say! If it runs and, runs great as you say why take it all apart.

When you have the pan off if the crank counterweights front and back havent been drilled then it isnt balanced!

Well No **** Einstein! And you are right they must know something you dont cuz it must have worked, Like I said it was a old school 408 with a 400m crank and big block Chevy rods they had heavy metal in it and a few other strange things added to the crank to make it work..
