im running 274/40/17 nittos right now and going through the 1/4 mile traps at redline in fourth gear. so instead of changing gears to 3.55 from my 373 i was thinking of changing tire size the m/t are 275/40/17 to but specs say they are a 1/2 inch taller but i dont think that is enough. thinking of going with m/t 295/45/17 which jegs say overall diameter is 27.2? would these fit? i do have lower springs on the car.

wanting to change b/c i went from 5 psi to 10psi now and i know that chould put me in fifth gear in the end of th 1/4

any thoughts would be helpful.

a 27" tire will fit, but you might have some issues with the way they fit your wheels.

best i ever did on the nittos was a 1.9 im not that great of launcher yet lol, i have a 9inch wide wheel you dont think they fit right

what i dont understand i feel like top of fourth should be more mph then 108-111

with my 3.27s im just coming into 4th at 110.ive never been to the track with it though

As for your trap speed, we really need to know what kind of RPM you are turning. Based on the mods in your sig, I can only guess that you are turning around 5500-5800 RPM.

These however are just guesses, since you put absolutely NO pertinent information in your post. Some things you might want to include are... Your times, your trans, your heads and intake... etc etc etc

I mean you no disrespect at all, but if you are really running the mods in your sig... youve got alot of work to do.

Stock heads, intake, t5.
1/4 time is 12.8 @ 108 5700-6000 rpm at 5psi of boost

Recently went to 10psi.. Bigger injectors and maf...

So I was thinking I should go taller tire with the added HP so I can stay on fourth gear...

If the tires are still good, my preference would be to step down to a lower gear.

Just for the simple fact that you'll get alot more MPH out of the car when you finally ditch those heads and intake!

i know your 100% right. I am saving up for those things. lol I will be needing tires soon so i though it would be a quick fix for now. thank you for the help

Another concern i have is with the 3.73's and the tires i have now is 108mph at 5700-6000rpm normal? i felt as if it was a little low. i believe i have seen other cars with the same tire and gear have a higher top speed in fourth. am i mistaken???
