86gt brought back from the dead with questions
3 Attachment(s)
ok some may have seen that I have been asking questions and contributing a bit so here is the deal.
I bought this car for $17 and my son and I are putting it back together as stock as possible. this was a rolling chassis with nothing in it. I source a temp SVT tranny and a 302 out my buddies 89 f150 but the 302 was originally out of a 91 gt. It had not gas tank etc either. Now the problem. it is missing the the fuse panel and some wiring to the gauges. Most the dash wiring is there but I dontknow what goes where . does anyone have some good pictures of an 86 gt under the dash? That would help as I am almost ready to start this thing up. here are some pictures from a few months ago. I also included a picture of my last project that I bought eaxactly the same way and I built a 400hp turbo engine for. Thanks for anyone that can help . I do enjoy this project and have learned how nice it is to work on an american car and look forward to driving the car |
foureyedpride.com has complete diagrams if the wiring harness for an 86. that is a GREAT site

That does not look like a 91 Ford Mustang block, are you sure its not an older

Its just the pan thats throwing you off. The engine is likely nothing special... But some people are intent to try to polish a turd.

ford motor sports headers off road h-pipe flowmaster exhaust gas tank steering rack mustang oil pickup mustang oil pan mustang lower and upper intake mustang engine wiring harness t5 tranny t5 bell housing mustang flywheel waterpump double roller timing chain all the seals and gaskets engine mounts tranny mounts raditor+shroud mustang fan front brake calipers and hoses rear seats dash harness and so far total investment is $1158 including buying the car with most the parts new listed above. I still need to get tires, front 86 hood, tie rod ends, rag joint for the steering, and paint the car which i still think i will have a total1600-1700 total finished or close to. you have to remember that I have a very good friend that owns a parts/paint store so things are sold at almost cost. Any thoughts on the difference in plugs on the steering colum from 86 to 87?? I keep seeing that referenced is that correct? |
