New to mustangs
Hi I am new to the fox body scene, i just picked up a 92 GT with QA1 everything as far as the suspension goes. The engine on the other hand has seen better days, I am planning to pull the engine this weekend and take it to the machine shop to get checked out. My plan is to build a track & street car it won't be daily driven but would like to take it out for a cruise everynow and then. I want to build a 347 and run 8-10 lbs of boost, what is my ideal compression ratio gonna be for that? I would also like to get an idea as far as cams, crank, heads, and pistons what should I be aiming for? Sorry for the 50 questions just not real sure where to start and help would be great .....thanks

Staying close to the low 9's would be advisable. As for internals, IF you go with an aftermarket block, you should get all forged pieces. If you aren't going to buy an aftermarket block, you should budget for replacing everything... for the day the block splits in half. |
which of those block brands would you recommend?
|
depends on how much money you have...

That stock block built to a 347 type engine isn't as strong as some people would make you think even without any boost.
They do like to split and there's no stopping it..... |
