Correct AN oil line size

I need some guidance please. I just bought a Ford Racing M-6642-S101 oil cooler. I want to use braided lines and AN fittings instead of the ****** fittings and clamps that came with the kit. The ****** brass fitting is 1/2" NPT. Should I go 6AN-1/2" NPT or 8AN-1/2"NPT? Thanks

you want as little restriction as possible...

Did they supply any of the 1/2"NPT pipe fittings? If they did, see what size the hose barbs are and go from there.
If they didn't send the fittings I would say to use -8.
1/2"NPT fittings can be had easily for any size from about 1/4" thru 3/4".....
