Default $5000 to spend

I want to spend about 5,000 to upgrade my 94 gt. I want to do some interior stuff that is going to cost about 2 grand soo that leaves me with 3 for the engine. My engine is pretty stock and I do not have an exhaust. I love the idea of forced induction but dont want to blow my motor. I assume I need new internals before I do that because my engine has 180,000 miles on it. Ideas? I love the kenne bell, the way it looks but everyone has said not to go that way and it is too much money for what it is. Vortech looks like a better choice but I may not be able to do that if the engine couldnt handle it.

A general rule of thumb is most any engine can handle *safely* 6 or 7 psi of boost. However the 5.0s are a high output engine, meaning higher compression than most engines. Thus, yes, it would be a good idea to lower your compression before running boost. By how much depends on how much air you want to cram in the engine with forced induction.

skip the interior stuff, $2k on interior is a ****ing waste!

Get a remaned shortblock and toss a H/C/I combo on it. Something like the Holley or TFS top end kits.

I have a big hole in my dash from when it was broken in to, and I want to have a nice stereo again, so i will not be skipping the interior. What kind of internals give the best bang for the buck? I wanted AFR heads but they're $1500 just for the heads. That seems like a lot. Whats a H/C/I combo? Heads, Cam, Intake?

you could also look for used stuff and get a set of E-street heads or used TFS heads AND a porperly setup 100 shot and still be WELL under the $3000 mark...

at the junkyard a few hours from my house, an ENTIRE interior is $200, im grabbing one to do an all black swap, not the black/gray BS

Well, I did some searching and this is what i came up with. What am i missing? This all comes out to about $4,000. I guess I could always wait to do my dash or my sound system. I can do one but not both with this set up. Anyways here are some links. Let me know.

no no no no no no

bear with me pulling an all nighter

TFS 170 heads (look on ebay)

used 3/8 1.6 rockers

TFS 2 cam

TFS R series intake or Edelbrock Vic 5.0

Mac longtubes

VRS OR X pipe

cat back of your choice (i like the Pypes Violators)

MEASURE for correct pushrod length

TFS intake elbow

75mm TB

get some ribbed Fox valve covers and paint them

fel pro complete gasket set

adjustable timing set

255lph pump

Aeromotive adjustable FPR

30# injectors

new starter

if you really want, get a new $699 shortblock from LRS

this should all be UNDER $3000 just look for used stuff and youll be a happy camper

put some 4.10's in the back and beef up the rear suspension and youre going to have a REALLY fun car, especially since EVERYONE thinks the pushrod SN95's are slow

look up some of xarmy187's video's and see what his does, and keep in mind he is at MAJOR altitude so yours will feel even better and run a good deal quicker

$200 for a ****ing CAI??? Are you on drugs?!

$45 off Ebay. Don't buy into the JLT hype. Also, a Summit brand TB will work fine. BBK TB's are known to be pieces of ****
