$5000 to spend
I want to spend about 5,000 to upgrade my 94 gt. I want to do some interior stuff that is going to cost about 2 grand soo that leaves me with 3 for the engine. My engine is pretty stock and I do not have an exhaust. I love the idea of forced induction but dont want to blow my motor. I assume I need new internals before I do that because my engine has 180,000 miles on it. Ideas? I love the kenne bell, the way it looks but everyone has said not to go that way and it is too much money for what it is. Vortech looks like a better choice but I may not be able to do that if the engine couldnt handle it.

A general rule of thumb is most any engine can handle *safely* 6 or 7 psi of boost. However the 5.0s are a high output engine, meaning higher compression than most engines. Thus, yes, it would be a good idea to lower your compression before running boost. By how much depends on how much air you want to cram in the engine with forced induction.

I have a big hole in my dash from when it was broken in to, and I want to have a nice stereo again, so i will not be skipping the interior. What kind of internals give the best bang for the buck? I wanted AFR heads but they're $1500 just for the heads. That seems like a lot. Whats a H/C/I combo? Heads, Cam, Intake?

you could also look for used stuff and get a set of E-street heads or used TFS heads AND a porperly setup 100 shot and still be WELL under the $3000 mark...
at the junkyard a few hours from my house, an ENTIRE interior is $200, im grabbing one to do an all black swap, not the black/gray BS

Well, I did some searching and this is what i came up with. What am i missing? This all comes out to about $4,000. I guess I could always wait to do my dash or my sound system. I can do one but not both with this set up. Anyways here are some links. Let me know.
