White Smoke Coming from Shifter opening
As the title suggests I have a white smoky substance coming up from under my shifter opening. It smells kind of bad. I think i have power steering fluid leaking from somewhere. Could this be related or is this something else entirely. Any one else have a similar problem, or know what this could be?

It doesnt happen at all during idle. I cleaned my IAC today to fix my idle. It was surging up to about 1500-2000 rpm and was just all over the place. It's at a steady 700-800 rpm now, which may be too low still. The car seems to want to stall when i try to move it with just the clutch. I just put on a new adjustable clutch cable and quadrant last sunday, and i couldnt move it at all with out gassing it before doing so. So, anyways, short story long, after fixing the idle to where it was steady I let it run about 10 minutes before I tried to move it, and no white smoke. After hearing it was fixed I hopped in and moved it a few yards forward and a few yards back, and immediately after doing so I saw and SMELLED it. I had to replace one of the steering arms last week as well. I thought I had to replace the whole rack and let the mustang sit for a while. I did have this smoke problem before I broke that. Pretty lost on what it is. Guessing that it may be a tranny seal of some kind but I don't know enough to call it anything other than a guess.
