How hard to swap from SROD to a T5 or T56?

How hard to swap from SROD to a T5 or T56?
How much of a beast is that in like an 83 GT with the factory SROD 3 speed+OD?
is it best just to find a junk yard 84+ T5 and rebuild it, and swap in, are there special parts like clutch, or driveshaft, crossmember?

i think you can find a good t5 way cheaper than a boneyard then rebuilding it
i dont know this for sure, but im betting that at most.....you'll need a driveshaft
