Default HP limits on a newer 302?

just wondering, i know the newer explorers & mountaineers up until 2000/2001 came with 302's.

was thinkin bout making a bastard child 3rd gen camaro. LS1's are too expensive, while i can get a low milage 302 from a 98+ explorer or mountaineer for far cheaper.

idea was to grab the 302, toss in a F303 cam, and either turbo it or throw on a shot of nitrous. not looking for huge numbers, just in the 400 rwhp range.

also thinkin of boltin up a 4r70w with manual valve body and trans brake. I think the v6 versions of this trans would bolt up to the 5.0?

fuel & spark would be controlled with a megasquirt.

ideas & concerns?

I don't think the late 302 blocks are really anydifferent from the early (86-94) blocks, they seem to have the same weaknesses.........

I can honestly say I that I have never seen a 302 or any Ford engine in a Camaro of any kind.

I know that is not what you meant about a bastard 3rd gen Camaro. Right?

I would rather put a stroked 351 in it instead...why waste the time with a 302
