95 GT... Where to start??
I recently purchased a 95 gt covertible with 140k miles.. It needs a clutch.. I plan on adding intake, heads, cam, headers/exhaust, 3.73 gears..an subframe connectors...
I was thinking of a spec stage 2. Any input would be very helpful. OH I payed 1100.00 for the car
Also sence the high miles, should i consider going into to motor? It does not smoke or knock....

i'd do a compression test. if it looks good leave it alone for now.
id do 4.10's, and nitrous, then when you do decide to get in the motor.... heads cam and intake
check 50resto for convertible parts

I would highly recommend rebuilding the internals of that motor and honing the block, if you don't you're asking for trouble.
Spec is OK, I have one, but their throw out bearings are garbage. I just rebuilt my 5.0 and I just used an F1 stage 3 clutch off of ebay and the thing is great. Compared to spec I'd had the say the quality of the parts is better and it's a cheaper clutch.
But yeah, completely rebuild that motor, with that kind of millage some of the gaskets are on borrowed time if you increase performance.

just do the compression check and check it out. 140k isn't bad but then again it depends on how well it was taken care of. Your list of mods are a good place to start.
The Spec clutch isn't bad at all. A friend of mine uses nothing but in his customers cars unless they want something very specific. He is one of the only certified Shelby techs in Tx and deals with alot of road coarse action.
Also got to ask the usual question.....what are your intentions for the car?
