Default snow tires

what do you guys think, 215 70 16 , or 215 60 16? The stock 225 55 16 are about 50 dollars more than the other two sizes. I think the way it works is the 215 70 16s are thinner but taller, and the 215 60 16 are a little bit thinner and taller than stock.

The sidewall of the 215-60 is going to be about 6mm (12mm total)taller and the 215-70 will be 27mm(54mm total) taller I believe. And they both will be 10mm narrower.

You are aiming for what fits your car and what's best for winter.

Best for winter is the tallest skinniest tire. That favours the 70 series in this case. So if it fits, go with that.

If you can find a 15" rim 205 70 15's work great.

Thanks, they have the 70 series in stock. Think thats what I'm gonna go with. If I have 16 inch rims on the front, will 15 inch rims on the back be ok ? Can't seem to find a pair of 16 inch rims at the junk yard, but 15s are plentiful.

Yes the wheel difference will be fine...just keep the same size on both rears and the same size on both fronts...

Sorry, wasn't a very well thought out question.
