Question i wanna build a turbo 5.0 for my son

this winter im building up a 331 or 347 short block for my 91. and im gonna have my 5.0 laying around, so i wanna build a car with my son. we found a shell on craiglist for only $1g and it has fresh paint NO rust at all it has a 3:73's and the tranny to go with it. so my question is what does it take to build a turbo foxbody? i dont want him having to much power so 400-450HP will be plenty. any help much appreciated.

A turbo kit is probably a good place to start.

stock 302 with a on3 kit will hit your goal and not break the budget, no need to boost a stock block stroker, = waste of money, the 302 will be plenty under boost.

These cars can be a handful with a stock 225hp engine.... you want to throw 400hp under your sons ***......... good luck with that.

my son has driven my 93 with the 429 many of times and thats 500+hp. he's been driving since he was 10 and he has driven my 91 which is probably 275-300hp up the road sideways doing a burn out. i think he can handle a boosted foxbody, im not trying to come out rude so if i am being rude then sorry. im not gonna pay for it he's gonna pay for it so he will probably be 18 before he can afford it.

Im sure the man knows that we are trying to find the best route not give parenting advise! Who says his son isnt older than we are? Let us know your plan, and we can go from there (400hp turbo is vague) but covers the topic lol. Budget?

we have been looking around and a good kit cost $3,000-3,500 so id like to stay around $3G if that's possible for a good clean 400+hp kit.
