Hello everyone,

It's my first time on the forum. I have owned a few mustangs in my day (1966,1967,2005) but I have a question about a 1994. I am looking at purchasing a 94 'Cobra'. I put quotes around cobra because I'm not sure if it's real or not. It's an automatic. I have checked on VIN websites and everything is telling me it's a cobra. I didn't think they made auto cobras. Any suggestions?

Authentic Cobras will stand out in a few different ways.

Rear bumper says MUSTANG
Cobra style front bumper (has big round fog lights vs small lights on GT)
Leather seats
White faced 160 MPH speedo (GTs are 150 mph)
Shaker 500 system

There are a lot of "replica" cobras out there, but if it's authentic it will have all the above. The Vin number is also right for a Cobra, but there have been so many faked GTs getting those handful of things to line up ensures its a real one.
