Default What would you pay?

Simple and sweet, I'm interested in the following car:

71,121 Original miles
- Black on black, 80% original paint, rare cloth interior
- Fresh 306, balanced and blue printed by speed shop, original short block with Holley aluminum heads
- 320 RWHP. Runs and drives nicely
- Aluminum driveshaft
- Long tube headers. X-Pipe catback unknown
- Canton Oil Pan
- Anderson Ford Power Pipe
- Sheet metal Aluminium Valve covers
- Scorpion Aluminum rocker arms
- speed shop's own weld-in Sub-frame connectors (I've seen them and are good quality equivalent to MM's)
- Chrome Cobra R wheels (17" x 9 1/2" front, and 17" x 10 1/2" rear)
- New Ford Racing 4.10 Ring and Pinion with all new bearings
- All new, brake calipers, brake rotors, belts, hoses, 255 LPH fuel pump, Billet Fuel Rails, Aeromotive Regulator, Aluminum Fluidyne radiator, SCT Mass Air Meter, speed shop dyno tune.
- QA1 tubular K-member, control arms with front coil overs
- A/C blows cold air
- New Autometer Phantom Tach and matching oil and water temp gauges
- Less than 200 miles since work was completed.

Note the "fresh 306"...I thought the 5.0 was a 302?? Maybe it was a typo.

I'm assuming it is a 5spd since that's how they were offered and an auto was optional?? Also assuming no rust/any major interior problems.

How much would you guys pay? Brand of mods like L/T's unknown right now.

Thanks for any help!

This is not a tech thread....it will now be moved to general discussion....

I could see that going for $4k depending on how it actually looked....

The 306 is just a machined 302 that was bored 0.030 over.....

Sorry...and thank you.

Really? Even if a known shop had done all that work? I will get a full list of EVERYTHING they did to the car down to the brand of parts...I haven't LOOKED at it. I noticed it in the corner of a somewhat dark room. It looked clean and this shop does great work and is very respected.

I've never bought anything from a speed shop. If Joe Shmo down the street was selling this then I wouldn't even consider it. They are asking $12K. Clean retail on a 200mi 95 Cobra is $8900ish (NADA). WOuld you factor in labor rates since the shop did all the work??

So would these total and add up to ~$3100 between parts and shop labor at prob $75/hr??:
- Aluminum driveshaft
- Long tube headers. X-Pipe catback unknown
- Canton Oil Pan
- Anderson Ford Power Pipe
- Sheet metal Aluminium Valve covers
- Scorpion Aluminum rocker arms
- speed shop's own weld-in Sub-frame connectors
- Chrome Cobra R wheels (17" x 9 1/2" front, and 17" x 10 1/2" rear)
- New Ford Racing 4.10 Ring and Pinion with all new bearings
- 255 LPH fuel pump, Billet Fuel Rails, Aeromotive Regulator, Aluminum Fluidyne radiator, SCT Mass Air Meter, speed shop dyno tune.
- QA1 tubular K-member, control arms with front coil overs
- New Autometer Phantom Tach and matching oil and water temp gauges

The motor rebuild and brakes etc with 200 mi on them would be like buying a 95 cobra with 200mi on it.

Any reason why? Could you elaborate more? Again assuming paint is real nice and interior is unmolested.

Just getting things answered now before I go into it.

Thanks a lot

post pics, car is worth what one is willing to pay, it's not like you can go down to the local dealer and pick one up, and remember your audience here, most here are budget shoppers and youngin's who don't have 2 nickels to rub together and whose price range hovers in the 2-4k range for mustangs...........also NADA doesn't account for performance parts added, to a purist, performance parts detract from the value, to an enthusiest however, it may add desire/value, which is why I say it is worth what one is willing to pay/where ever your desire is at for it., I overpaid for my 89 vert, but it had the look I desired!!! so I had to pay for that is that car worth 12k, IMO?? no, based on description, but pics may help argue the case or worth.

From the sounds of it...sounds like the shop built it and the customer didn't pay and now they need to recoup their losses.

BINGO!!!!!!

I didn't know much about he 5.0's other than you can build one out of a Jegs catalog LOL.

Compared to mods motors, mods/parts are cheap.

I'll get plenty of pics when I look at it in a week or so. I was just gauging what the mods on the car were worth IF it would be at BEST a clean retail of $8900 (which it may not be).

I'll ask to see ALL the paperwork etc. How you guys think this would make a DD and mpg's? Thinking of selling my 03 mach with 86K mi for it...I see it as a brand new car (cobra) for the most part with 200 mi on it plus some goodies I planned to do to the Mach (gears, flsfc's,l/t's)
